The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Council adopted a number of key resolutions at its special meeting on 21 November (full statement), in response to a range of student and workers’ demands following a series of country-wide #FeesMustFall and related movements’ protests.
Council also instructed NMMU Management to commence the process of implementing these resolutions starting with immediate relief measures for students (debt relief-related) and workers (related to minimum wage and some benefits), and ending the bringing in of outsourced services.
